The High School of Dundee

St. George's School of Malaga started their first student exchange with the High School of Dundee, a very prestigious school with a 770-year history.  Eighteen Year 9 students travelled to Scotland from 26 February - 6 March and had an unforgettable experience, forging long-lasting relationships with their Scottish partners.  The students visited Edinburgh and were taken on a ghost tour as well as went to the Scottish National Museum.  They were able to dress in medieval armour and learn about the famous battle at Bannockburn where the Scots conquered the English.  At the Grouse distillery, students saw how whisky was made and at Stirling Castle, students went back in history with a treasure hunt.  Students also visited the Heathergems jewellery factory in Pitlochry. The highlight of the week was a traditional Scottish dance, a "ceilidh", where our Spanish lads dressed up in traditional Scottish kilts and everyone killed up their heels to the Scottish reels.  St. George's students and the accompanying teachers were most impressed and moved by the way the Scottish families opened up their homes and hearts during this exchange.  On 27 May, the Scottish students will visit Malaga for one week.  Many fabulous excursions and activities have been planned to reciprocate the Spanish students' wonderful week in Dundee.
