The parents of the children in Foundation Stage were invited to come into the classroom to participate in class activities with their child in the last week of October. It was an opportunity for parents and children to complete an activity as a team and share some time together in what can be considered their home away from home!
In FS1, all who paticipated enjoyed our activity fun day when the mums and dads came into the classroom to learn about the weather - our topic for October. All took part in creative activities relating to the weather. They made a sun, a kite, an umbrella and a snowman. The parents were very proud of the children's achievements.
In FS2, the activities were based on Halloween. Parents and children had to work together to make pumpkin magic wands. They were hard at work colouring, cutting and pasting, and let's not forget the gold stickers and glitter to finish off the project. The end result was a magic wand that any fairy godmother would be envious of!
After all that hard work, we made a refreshing batch of bubbling witches brew made from lemon lime soda, lemon sorbet and green food colouring for a Halloween effect. The children were very proud of their work and the parents were also very pleased with the activity.
