As a school leader in the 21st Century, it is of vital importance to share our vision of how this new school will look and function. My own vision is founded on a passionate determination that every individual in our school community should succeed.
Learning and teaching are complex processes and it is necessary for us to have long term aims that develop each student´s skills, attitudes and dispositions to learn.
At the very heart of our school we are developing individuals who are being asked to stop and think about their actions and their consequences. We are moving beyond reading, writing and arithmetic to communication, creativity and critical thinking skills.
We are not afraid to try new ideas in the interests of developing our community. For the vast majority of our students, English is an additional language. Our curriculum, which embraces core skills, personal and social education, research and creativity will help them to learn effectively in, and through English.
We also wish to extend our school into the community and to make a significant contribution to its development in an innovative way. For example, we have participated in singing competitions where we have excelled and won many first prizes and our reputation within the community is that of a very competitive, creative and caring school.
